My Project

My first grade students are amazing! They have come so far this school year, and many are now ready for chapter books. Most of them did not have a complete year of preschool and/or kindergarten due to COVID-19, and many came into first grade not knowing all of their letters. They have worked so hard on their literacy skills, and love to read every day. We can use various chapter books and picture books to help them with this in order to gain independence during small reading group time, as well as allow them to take home a book to read with someone at night. This will be very helpful to continue supporting the foundational literacy skills they need before they move on to second grade.

My students also love to collaborate with peers during STEAM time, but we do not have enough materials for everyone to use.

I am requesting help in obtaining things like art supplies and building supplies (magnet tiles/rocks). We will use these things to help support our students in strengthening and growing their collaboration skills and social-emotional learning, as well as allowing them to express their creativity with various mediums.
