This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My ASTROS are one of a kind! They come from a low-income area; however, they do not let that define them. They are bright, joyful, and a pleasure to teach. My Title I school is building on a solid foundation. We are aiming to give our students the high education they deserve with very little resources.

Money should not be a factor in whether a child receives the quality education they deserve.

Working to close the opportunity gap is my number one priority. "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." I have hope and confidence that my ASTROS will go far in life despite the daily challenges they face! I hope they reach heights that are OUT of THIS WORLD!

My Project

Our class theme is outer space. Space decor such as the space rug and tent and inflatable ASTROnauts and solar system, will allow my ASTROS to see our space theme truly come to life. The life-size ASTROnauts will be a great addition to our classroom and a wonderful photo op for my ASTROS. We can even use them for buddy reading! The space rug and tent will add a new dimension to our library area. I know my ASTROS will love learning and reading even more with a cool place to learn and read.

Polaroid cameras will be beneficial to my ASTROS because they will be able to capture moments in our classroom and see them develop right before their eyes!

I know the space theme photography backdrop will be an added element to our class photos. I'm looking forward to creating a display board so we can post all of our polaroids on a cool photo wall.

The inflatable globe and solar system, music and art supplies, clipboards, and answer buzzers will bring our learning to life! All of these resources will make a positive difference in my ASTROS' learning because all of the chosen materials make learning more fun!
