Help me give my students bean bag chairs and a bookshelf for our classroom reading corner to enjoy books during class, support their literacy skills, and create a comfortable reading area.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their eagerness to learn and grow. Even when reading is challenging, they show up and put forth effort. My students also bring creativity and positive energy into my classroom. I want to give them a space that reflects and supports that energy, especially when it comes to reading.
To help them thrive and encourage a love for books and independent reading, I’m working to create a cozy reading corner in our high school classroom.
The addition of bean bag chairs will provide flexible, comfortable seating that helps students relax while reading. The bookshelf will give us a dedicated space to organize and display high-interest books, making it easier for students to find something that interests and excites them.
This reading corner will encourage students to see reading not as a task, but as an opportunity to imagine and grow. It will be a place where students can engage in stories and build confidence as readers. Your support will help make reading more inviting for every student who walks through my door.
