This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Too many precious minutes are lost in a classroom due to talking. Also, we are currently learning many concepts of measurement and without materials, it is far too abstract for my second grade students.

My students are very bright and a great bunch of 35 second grade students.

They are so bright that they are constantly competing with one another, which causes many disruptions due to calling out. They love hands on learning and the measurement manipulatives will increase their love of learning and their knowledge of weight and capacity.

My Project

Increased noise levels make it very difficult for students to concentrate. I am hoping that the yacker tracker will increase my students' understanding of noise levels. The measurement manipulatives will increase their love of learning and their knowledge of weight and capacity.

My project is so important because I work at a Title I school and we have very limited resources due to budget cuts.

The parents are amazing but can only do so much. These items will bring a great change to my classroom.
