My Students

I teach 16-20 students in an adaptive physical education class. These students have various disabilities ranging from autism, visual and hearing impairments, orthopedic impairments, emotional disturbances, specific learning disabilities, speech/language impairments, traumatic brain injury, developmental delays, and other health impairments.

Students participate in P.E.

class twice a week, and need structured stations to help engage them. Stations tend to be repetitive so I am looking for fun, new, and creative equipment for students to use with their instructional aides in class.

My Project

I am creating a DonorsChoose project to help support my adaptive physical education classes, a program designed to meet the individualized gross motor needs, or other disability-related challenges, of our exceptional students. All students will be able to be active throughout their school day in a fun and safe way. I hope to make this class the best and most exciting part of their day. Students will use the donations in their physical education class throughout station work settings.

Giving students new equipment to use will help students be more engaged in class and help teacher aides interact with students in a positive and fun setting.
