My Project
I am a first-year teacher at a Title I school, and, this being my first year with only student teaching under my belt, I need help! I am asking for a plethora of manipulatives for math because I believe that math is the most hands-on subject that we teach, and these kids need materials in order to succeed in this subject.
I want to use the base 10 blocks to help them understand place value better with not only whole numbers but also with decimals!
I want to fraction bars to help them compare fractions and find equivalent unit fractions! I use whiteboards a lot in class, and I would love to support these kids with markers. I want to use dice in order to play math games and be able to randomize numbers and examples during lessons.
I have only a little experience with 5th grade, and I would love any support that can be provided! I have also asked for just a few materials such as paper towels, hand sanitizer, and snacks that the neither the school, me, nor our families can provide.
