My Project
My students struggle with math concepts and need additional hands-on learning experiences. These first graders are a year behind in math.
I'm hoping to build a classroom set of manipulatives for all strands of math because our manipulatives are old and not plentiful, and the connecting cubes no longer connect and there are few base ten blocks.
My students enjoy a hands-on approach that is meaningful and engaging. In addition, I wish to plan activities that will spiral the math curriculum, as well as differentiate the skills and strategies.
I have a wide range of student abilities in my class and these manipulatives will enable me to more effectively reach their needs.
