My Students

I teach 9th grade English students from all different backgrounds and ethnicities. Many are eager to learn and want to do well but lack the resources for books and supplies.

Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any challenge.

However, we need books to advance our classroom library. Most don't have books they can bring from home nor the money to buy them.

We would love to create a classroom library full of great books from all different cultures and contexts that these kids can dive into and enjoy.

My Project

I am a first-year teacher at my High School. I am looking to create a classroom library for students so they can find something they love to read every day. Most of these students don't own books or can not pay to buy books for pleasure. We want to capture their minds through reading and reading things they enjoy. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word. We would love your support!!!
