This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Music isn't just singing, it's important that it includes movement as well. Incorporating movement into music lessons enhances student learning, engagement and focus in young children. It encourages social interaction, supports their development of motor skills and coordination. It's also so much fun!

Movement activities help students experience music concepts firsthand, making abstract ideas like beat, rhythm and tempo understandable.

The materials in this project are for movement games for K-5. The bouncy balls will be used in passing on the beat and tempo games. The agility rings are for creating movement grids to jump to the beat, learning centers, and visual reference for spacing. With the cups, we will be doing passing games, listening for form and tempo through cup routines and relays. The binder rings are to organize laminated manipulates for our games.
