Moving to the Beat of My Drum!

Help me give my students a class set (25) of stability balls and champion rings to use in cardio-drumming fitness.

My Project

All of our students want to learn and participate in our cardio drumming fitness class. Currently, we only have 3 cardio balls for a class of 25 students. There are numerous benefits both physical and mental to drumming. Studies have shown that drumming can reduce stress and negative emotions, increase levels of fitness, provide an outlet for self-expression and build positive relationships. The cardio-drumming will serve all 379 students in our PK-5 school.

The stability balls and champion rings create drum sets that will be used in many roles in our school; physical fitness, music class, and a cultural connection for the students.

The first and foremost is to give all students a chance to participate in a fitness program combining drumming and movement. An additional lesson will be to connect the history of drumming to their culture and their ancestors.
