My students lively, busy, creative and love to come to school. Even though they are from an area in Detroit, Michigan that does lend many opportunities, they love to come to school. Many just come for free or reduced lunch getting education is a perk. Day to day live is challenging for them. Come sunshine, rain sleet or snow they show my classroom is full.
My students are six and seven years old and learn best through hands-on learning.
They love to absorb knowledge whether it's from a chalkboard or technology. They thrive on learning when they are engaged and have numerous experiences in school as they do not have those opportunities at home.
My Project
With the end of the year fast approaching, we are looking forward to celebrating our wonderful first-grade year! These students have been working hard and deserve a little celebration!
Moving onto 2nd grade will require a take-home bag full of learning tools for each student.
Sight word flash cards, journals, pencil case with pencils and sharpeners will be just perfect for my students! A workbook will help prevent that summer slide of knowledge. The plates, napkins, and tablecloths will make the room festive. The healthy snacks and juice will really make the celebration grand! Colored paper will give our 1st Grade Completion Certificate the pizzaz they need.
