All of my students benefit from structured routines and consistent environments. The disruptions caused by the pandemic, including changes in routines and learning environments, have been particularly challenging for them. Many students require clear and direct communication. The items that I selected will help my students make up for gains lost during COVID-19. The social isolation and changes in routine brought about by the pandemic could have had a significant emotional and mental health impact on these students.
I want to create a small reading space with small bookcases that can fit perfectly in my small classroom.
I have a limited amount of games for my students and having a section in my class for the students to have book talks and play board games would allow the students much-needed time to work on social skills. I also chose the wireless document cam to allow the student to share their work from anywhere in my room. This allows a student who has an issue standing in front of the class to present their project or body of work at their desk. The wipes will allow me to keep my classroom free of germs to keep my students in class during cold and flu season.
