My Project
My goal as a 1st grade teacher is to help my students learn how to decode and encode and ultimately read.
I want to implement hands on learning games and activities, to help my students, both present and future, build a solid foundation for reading that will follow them forever.
By gaining hands on experience with the building blocks of reading/literacy through the science of reading literacy and fluency bundle and the touch and read phonics word match, I hope that students will build a solid starting point that will ultimately help them cultivate a love of not only reading but learning.
I also want to instill good organizational skills through the use of seat sacks to help keep our classroom stay tidy and organized.
