Moving, Grooving, and Ready to Learn!

My students need supplies to keep them active and moving throughout the day. This includes materials to help them move not only outside the classroom, but inside too! Studies prove that activity promotes learning.

My Students

My students are a lively bunch of 8 and 9 year olds. They are curious, fun loving, and enthusiastic about learning. The love to use technology and participate in hands on activities. They are a diverse group of learners who come to school every day eager to learn. Our school is small, with only one or two classrooms at every grade level. All of the students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch.

These kids inspire me to be a better teacher and I want to be able to provide them with the best teaching, resources, and opportunities that are available.

My Project

This project is focused on getting materials to promote activity and flexibility inside and outside of the classroom.

We are hoping to provide students with choices in their physical activities outdoors and their seating choices inside the classroom,

These days, many students spend up to 85% of their days seated. We need materials that will motivate and inspire students to get active during the school day by providing them with choices.

This project also includes options for flexible seating, which will allow students to find a place to sit that will be suitable to their learning style.

By giving the students options for activities and seating, I am hoping to enhance engagement and give the students a sense of ownership that will motivate them to make positive choices that will benefit their potential for learning.
