Moving and Singing the Stretchy Band Way

Help me give my students a stretchy band for creative movement activities for the entire class both in the classroom and outside.

My Project

When you are four years old, moving and playing are a large part of your day. That's true in music class, too - it just looks a little different. This stretchy band will allow my young students to move and sing as a group in and out, up and down, side to side, and fast and slow to music, all of which are opposites, an important concept for this age group. My sweet little ones can also use this stretchy band to practice making circles - another challenging concept.

Steady beat, simple rhythms, opposites, teamwork, a visual representation of what personal space and boundaries look like - these are just a few of the skills that are learned while playing with this stretchy band in music class.

Having this stretchy band will provide another opportunity for these young children to move and sing while demonstrating their ever-expanding vocabulary.
