Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an awesome group of students that are in constant motion. They are energetic and full of wiggles like any typical 8 year old. I teach Language Arts and sometimes that requires a lot of sitting down and writing. My students are sweet and loving but sometimes they need to be able to get their wiggles out without disturbing those around them. We are a charter school and we would love to be able to introduce some new ways of learning within the classroom.

My Project

We have 12 balance ball chairs in my classroom and they are very highly regarded. My students love to have the ability to move and learn all at the same time. I have seen their attention span increase and the productivity level rise.

I would love to be able to have 6 more chairs and introduce a standing table along with some balance disks to keep them moving.

Language Arts involves a lot of sitting in order to read and write. By introducing all of these different types of movement into the classroom, I am hoping to be able to get my students working and learning while they move.
