My Students
My sixth-grade students are some of the most inspiring, kindhearted people I know. It's a growth year for sure as they transition from upper elementary to middle school. Separately, they're pretty unsure of themselves, but together, they are a force to be reckoned with and spark the most vibrant class discussions.
As an educator of special needs students, I am constantly looking for ways to meet all my learners exactly where they are, regardless of grade level.
Thinking outside the box and presenting the same material my colleagues are in a manner that works best for my diverse set of students is a challenge I love to take on daily!
My Project
Because of the way our schedule is set up this year, our recess and lunch breaks are really early in our day. This unfortunately leads to a very looooong afternoon stuck inside the classroom with a whole lot of energy to burn. These fidget gadgets will help keep us focused on instruction without being a huge distraction, all while helping kids release some of that pent-up energy! The pop its and chair bands allow us to move and groove in our seats during teacher time. The desk cycle is motivation for our special star students to use each week!
