My Students
All grade-level students at my school love to make connections! They are curious and enjoy hands-on learning experiences.
We do not just talk about music, we sing, play, create and perform!
On a regular basis, we make connections with reading, math, science, social studies, and much more! Instead of feeling pressure to read and write, students get to respond to how the music makes them feel, if they like it, and why. As their Music Teacher, I enjoy finding fun and creative ways for all my students to learn! What better way to learn than taking what they are familiar with and making a bridge to what they need to know. Our “light-bulb” moments are when they can verbalize the connection without teacher guidance.
My Project
Teaching kindergarten through fifth-grade students is a great challenge while keeping our music room sanitized. It is great in that we can meet in person to sing, play instruments, and learn about music. Our class needs an air purifier, a sanitizing cleaning spray that lasts 24 hours, and individual carpet squares for when we sit on the classroom floor.
To better support my students with clean air, sanitized seating, and daily cleaning of shared items, an air purifier, sanitizing cleaning spray, and carpet squares will keep us moving and grooving safely in music classes.
