Movin' and Groovin' in Kindergarten

Help me give my students sensory choices for whole-body regulation, like seating and touch choices. The cushions allow the students to sit in a more nontraditional way, giving their active bodies a chance to move.

My Project

Many of my kindergarten students have trouble with conventional sitting due to body regulation challenges. I want to provide them with some alternative ways to move their bodies while still attending to their learning with their peers. Alternative seating choices, especially for time on or near the rug, are ideal.

When students can use sensory-inspired ways to help their control and thinking, so much more can be accomplished.

Several of my students are on the autism spectrum, and others have ADHD control issues. They want to be a part of class time on the rug, but often, their bodies have difficulty. Thus, alternative seating choices and mobile ways to move their bodies are encouraged.

Through your donation, my students will have a means of attending to learning while giving their bodies a bit more freedom.
