This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a low-income/high poverty urban school district. They are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom, with challenges including emotional trauma, a high mobility rate, and many other special needs. Many of them are being raised in single parent households, and 99% receive a free lunch and breakfast. My students are 70% Hispanic and 30% African-American. The majority of my students are far below the national and state standards in reading and math.

My Project

I recently won a green screen kit and to make our movies even better we need to keep the camera perfectly still which requires a tripod. We are using cell phone and tablets to take the pictures for our stop-motion movies and I would like to improve the quality of our photos.

My students can be amazingly creative and I would like to give them all the tools to be successful and make more amazing movies!

My students are eager to learn about the movie making process and they love making creative stories and watching them come to life. My students can use innovative technologies to learn old school reading and writing!
