My Students
I am teaching a wonderful group of 1st graders! They are all very energetic, loving, happy, and ready to learn! We are focused and ready for a new school year where we are excited about becoming stronger readers! We want to increase our learning by having a vast amount of leveled books to choose from! They want to learn as much as they can!
My class is composed of many students who have found their love for learning through movement and activity!
My Project
I have seen first hand how the ability to move helps in students achievement. My first graders are still little and they need to be able to move and fidget throughout the day-- while learning! I have also seen how being able to get their wiggles out creates a better behavioral environment.
By creating a classroom where students choose their seating everyday, I will give them to ability to know their needs and to meet them while they learn.
They will have options and strategies to use to help them stay focused on work! I know that having these options in our daily routine will cause an increase in student performance.
Stability balls will give students the ability to move while staying focused on work. The giant pillows allow students to sit/lay on the floor and complete their work, giving them another choice and allowing them to know what they need to be successful.
