Help me give my students the opportunity to move while learning. With the rise of ADHD and the demands of learning in the classroom, many students need an alternative way of sitting in the classroom. Movement is magic!

My Project
Students are often taught to quietly sit still and pay attention in most classrooms. This is actually preventing some children from performing to their highest potential. Well, not in my classroom. I want every student each school year to be successful, engaged, and learning without creating distractions because of their superpower. This superpower, ADHD, is one of the most common childhood disorders and is on the rise. In a recent study in the "Journal of Child Neuropsychology," they found that children with ADHD perform better on a complex attention tasks when they are fidgeting. Movement really makes learning magical. Our students today need to move during the school day. In that same study they "found that higher rates of physical movement were associated with better working memory task performance." By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase student academic achievement. Flexible seating allows students who need to move while learning to stay engaged in the lesson. The wobble chair products that I have selected will help my students have the ability to move during the school day. This will increase their ability to learn. It will decrease the need to physically move around the classroom or create other distractions. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them and creates a functional learning atmosphere. As a newer teacher, help me help my students thrive in our classroom with wiggle seating. Help me make the magic of movement real for them.
