Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school in the Bronx is a Title I, 100% free lunch school.
A large percentage of our students are Special Needs, English as a Second Language, and/or living in Temporary Housing.
They love new experiences, being creative, and working together. My students are eager to try new things and if I get excited about something they will get excited too. School is a great time for them to really be kids and to not worry about what is going on in the outside world and the difficulties they may have.
My Project
As of now, our school will be doing a combination of in-person and remote learning. However, when the kids are doing in-person learning, the students will not be allowed to leave their classrooms. Therefore they will have movement and dance classes in their classrooms. I need simple activities I can do with PreK classes up to 5th grade. I also need items that are easy to clean and travel from class to class. These products will allow the students to share their answers easily. They will also be able to participate in activities that will allow them to move around and use their bodies.
