Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
No matter what book you have read, good or bad, it has left a mark on you. Our goal as educators is to help our students create those moments and by carefully selecting the right books, we can make all those moments positive for them.
I teach at a public Title I school in Florida.
These high school students are eager to learn, question, and challenge. They are the best I have encountered. Our students are so talented that they win awards for music, art, science education, computer technology, etc.
My Project
Our goal is to create a literacy infused environment where students respond to reading by using a blog. We love our students to write, so there is a bulletin board where they tweet about the books they are reading. School wide competition by grade level to see who can read the most books are some of the ideas pending.
What bigger impact in education than books!
It increases vocabulary, brings us places, challenges our beliefs, and so much more. Books are the original Google. I want to go to Paris, I can pick up a book. I want to learn how to sew, I can pick up a book. Let us get back to the basics that work!
More than half of students from low‑income households
