Move to Learn

Help me give my students with Autism and ADHD classroom resources to rid themself of the excessive energy that controls their day. The air walker can meet the needs of many students with regulated movements.

My Project

The air walker, swivel chairs, and cardio bike will offer safe ways for students to burn excessive energy. Most students with Autism or ADHD tend to spin or be in constant motion. I want to offer safe movement to my students throughout our learning day. While we encourage social/emotional learning in kindergarten, many students are not allowed to rid themselves of frustrations in positive ways. We would like the kid friendly punching bag to encourage fitness as one way to express and regulate emotions. Weighted vest will be in place to assist students with table time for learning to write or take part in table games with peers and teachers.

Students learn to express their needs to help them be successful daily!

Learning takes place even when students are in motion. Movement in the classroom does not have to always mean disruptive behavior, it could be that we must put learning into motion.
