This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At my school, we have exceptionally talented and dedicated students who are willing to go the extra mile to have a dynamic and challenging music education. Our students may face very difficult situations at home and around them, but their willingness to persevere and their tenacity has set them apart.

Our music students have gone on to do great things in the community and in higher level music education.

We are honored to know that many of our scholars have received scholarships and high placement due to their work in music. We are very proud of their work and are excited to see what great things they will do this year. Music has done great things for our most at-risk youth. Let's help them continue their great work!

My Project

Our school has developed a healthy love and desire for music. In the last few years, we have watched our students march on to rock and jazz ensembles, plus a chorus and a small string section. This year, we have several drumming students who hope to increase their skills and share with the community through building a drum line and a marching band of their own. With the bass drum, cymbal and tenor drum, our students will be one step closer to making their visions come true. They hope to use these instruments in parades and community events, as well as athletic events, during their travels and cultural events. Having our students take part in these events, is an effective way to keep them engaged in the community as well as learn more about the cultures of this world. The violin rosin, trombone mute, and instrument cables will go pupils who are working on applications at performing arts high schools as well as hope to play within the community, and work on a history and English project that will include electric guitar and their string section. These projects have helped to encourage our students to have a true love for their education, as well as see it as something fun and exciting.
