My Students
Growing up, myself as a student was always scared of mathematics. I didn’t look at math the way my students do today. Teaching students mathematics for the past 3 years I have seen such a change in how students look at the subject. My students are critical thinkers, persevere through problems, and love to use manipulatives and visuals to help aid their thinking. My students love to take risks and extend their thinking. The work we do in our classroom, I hope will follow this children into the future!
My Project
Students of all ages love to play games that are motivating and fun. I am always looking for exciting and engaging ways to keep my students engaged in their learning. These are math games my students can use during the year. Games allow students to use critical thinking and reinforce math skills used throughout the year. Games also allow students to depend their understanding and math reasoning. I want to help my students learn in meaningful and fun ways. Working in a title 1 school, many of my students struggle with their foundational math skills. I hope through these games, students will be able to build their basic math skills and help them become successful mathematical learners!
