My Students

My school has an ethnic population is 81.3 percent Hispanic, 17.39 percent African American, and 1.3 percent Anglo.

We are a Title 1 school with a population of over 750 students. I teach 45 great 2nd graders, however 40%-50% are struggling readers and most need motivation. My students have limited access to technology but are always excited when given the opportunity to experience and use technology in their learning.

My Project

With an iPad mini my students will have an opportunity to work on apps to build their fluency, comprehension, as well as be given an opportunity to infuse technology in their learning by using the iPad mini to create book reports, take pictures, research ideas and make mini films.

Donating to this project will help build comprehension and fluency in my struggling readers as well as motivate my reluctant readers.

It will provide an opportunity for students to express themselves creatively.
