My students attend a district in a small town in East Texas. They all share a love and passion for learning! Our district strives hard to provide our students with as many learning opportunities as it can, but with over half of my students coming from a low socioeconomic background the resources can be limited at times. My students enjoy and appreciate any and all learning opportunities they are given! My students come to me everyday ready to learn, and I strive to motivate them in as many positive ways as I can!
My Project
Since our classroom is very limited on technology, the chromebook will be the perfect addition for students to use when they want to test their comprehension over a book they've read.
The chromebook will also be a reward and that is what this project is all about: rewarding students and motivating them.
In their computer lab, my students enjoy the learning websites such as Starfall and ABCYA, so they will also be able to use the chromebook for these websites during station time and it will be a reward when students make good choices.
This brings me to the other supplies listed in our project such as the stickers and the treasure chest toys and objects. These things will be used to motivate students to make good choices and do their best when they are working. I realize these are extrinsic motivation, but for Kindergarten we will begin with these things and slowly move toward focusing on how to intrinsically motivate ourselves. My students work very hard and I want to have the opportunity to reward them for their hard work and good choices.
