Help me give my students paint and colored pencils to inspire their imagination
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Heffron's classroom raised $569
This project is fully funded
My Students
Our school is a high poverty area and students have limited paint, pencils and art supplies. Students love art and color. They live in a visual world with mostly screentime and advertising. Art is a way for students to understand themselves and the world around them. My students love to make, draw, color and express their unique ideas.
My Project
Students will use colorful paint and colored pencils to be inspired for their art projects. Color ignites learning and the imagination to think of wonderful worlds, personal feelings and share their ideas. Students will build on art skills and vocabulary while exploring new ways to add color, shapes, textures and techniques to their artworks.
The donation of watercolor paint and colored pencils motivates students to expand from text based learning and visualize their aspirations and emotions.
Exploring color leads to the discovery of mood and helps make observations that get passed over in daily activities. These supplies will motivate students as a part of an art curriculum that reflects on identity, culture and the environment.
