Motivation Break to Learn!

Help me give my students a LEGO brick set and Emotiblocks, as well as scratch art paper and bookmarks.

My Students

My students are very unique; I am teaching kids with emotional disabilities. My students are kindergarten through 2nd graders. Being this young, they need a lot of help recognizing their emotions and learning how to manage them. They really enjoy hands-on activities and visuals tools.

My Project

I am teaching in a low income school where more than 50% of the students are receiving free or reduced-price meals. My classroom is very special. My students always need to be motivated to learn. I am always on the lookout for a new sensory break for them. The scratch art paper is perfect for such a break. They can also use the scratch art paper to learn their sight words. It is easy to store in their cubbies. It is also easy to clean and creates zero mess. The LEGO brick set is always their choice when we are having indoor recess. The brick set helps them to be creative and we can use it also as math manipulatives. The emotional blocks will make our social skills teaching more fun. It will give them the hands-on learning experience they need.
