Can you imagine to be in a classroom with twenty-six other people, and a teacher teaching when you just have the need to wiggle or stare out into space? This is expected to be done five days a week for at least five to six hours a day. I blend instruction with frequent brain breaks and use movement to stimulate their minds and bodies. However, students still need to stimulate their senses during lessons and the disc seats, and motivators would help with that because the s reminder to focus or ability to have equipment to move. Integrating these tools into the classroom will make a big difference in their daily learning activities.
Flexible seating would help address the need to wiggle without disturbing others.
Research has shown having a chance to wiggle and work can improve focus which in turn improves understanding. The research also shows that with small reminders that have no sound will create focus.
My students come to school eager and willing to learn. They want to stay caught up but their bodies are distracting them.
My Project
Our students are the future, and if we are not encouraging them and doing everything in our power to motivate them to reach their highest potential, their future will be limited. Having flexible disc seating in my classroom will allow my students to work and study in their most comfortable learning spot. Motivation by a small reminder is a small way to help them learn without being told all the time.
Over the thirty-one years that I have been teaching, students in my class need more equipment to help them focus on their learning.
I blend instruction with frequent brain breaks and use movement to stimulate their minds and bodies. However, students still need to stimulate their senses during lessons and the disc seats and motivation times would help. Integrating these tools into the classroom will make a big difference in their daily learning activities.
