Motivating Young Minds Through DAMATH: Fun Math Competitions with Prizes!

Help me give my students the motivation to enjoy learning math by providing prizes for a fun DAMATH competition that builds skills, boosts confidence, and turns math into an exciting, rewarding experience.

My Project

As a passionate educator, I believe that learning math should not only be effective—but also fun. That’s why I want to bring back excitement to the classroom through a DAMATH competition, a Filipino educational board game that combines checkers with math skills. The game is designed to reinforce basic math operations in a strategic and engaging way.

Unfortunately, many of my students currently struggle with math and lack the confidence to even try.

This has made it harder for them to participate enthusiastically in any math-related activity. But I believe we can change that with the right motivation.

What This Project Will Do:

This project aims to:

Host a DAMATH classroom competition

Provide small prizes (school supplies, snacks, certificates, medals) to motivate participation and effort

Create a positive environment where students learn math without fear or pressure

By offering incentives, students will be encouraged to try, play, and eventually improve in math—all while having fun and working collaboratively.
