This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the most amazing kiddos! They are bright, energetic and curious. As a teacher in a high poverty and high mobility school, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they show up with smiles on their faces and are ready to learn.
We are a kindergarten to fifth grade, Title I elementary school with about 450 students.
All students receive free breakfast and lunch. We are a proactive school with several before and after-school tutoring and community outreach programs. Our students' families struggle financially, but everyone is dedicated to helping our parents provide for their children.
The educators and support staff are amazing in their dedication and determination to make a difference in the lives of our students. Our goal is to give each student the very best education and the best support possible at all times. We will not fail in our mission, and our students share our determination to succeed!
My Project
As my students engage in STEM projects, they will need lots of motivation and encouragement. The whiteboards will give them something to record their information on and solve problems such as math problems. Posters will give them visuals to help remind them of the concepts they need to know when working on different types of math problems. The Growth-minded poster will be huge in helping my student persevere through their challenges. l have been working all year to instill growth-mindset phrases in their minds. These posters will help me give them a visual reference to look to when they feel like giving up or think they have done all that they can do. Will you help me? Thank you!
