My Students

What could provide a class of 5th graders instant interest and motivation? iPads!

I have a class of 25 5th graders that would love to utilize iPads in our classroom to enhance our daily learning!

Our school is located in a small, rural town of Wahiawa, Hawaii. Our students come from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of needs and challenges. When you mention the use of an iPad, their eyes light up! Currently, we have one iPad and one student computer in the classroom. It is very difficult to share and mange the use of the equipment equitably and fairly among the students.

My Project

My project plan will provide the students more opportunities to develop life and career skills through the use of technology. In order for our students to be college and career ready, they need to be provided with ample opportunities to develop their Core Standards and 21 Century Skills. Adding iPads to our classroom will enable the students to learn innovative skills through information media, technology and educational apps. The iPads would provide students immediate access to technology for research, differentiated instruction at their fingertips, and a camera tool for documenting their learning through movies and digital creations. The iPads will also be used as an assessment tool in which the students and I can track progress and receive immediate feedback.

With your help, these iPads will make a difference in our classroom by engaging our students in a variety of learning opportunities.
