This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the BEST students walk through my classroom door. Why? I would say because every child that I am blessed to interact with has their own personal and sweet qualities. I look at it as a blessing that they chose me to lead them to success no matter what barriers or difficulties they may have. It is my duty to believe in them and help them to feel successful in life.
"Set high expectations for each individual student." We live in a community with a large school district always trying to improve.
However, our funding reduces year after year. I still do my best as an educator to improve every year and become an innovative educator for my students.
My Project
Students who walk through my doors are walking into an environment of fun learning, innovation, and exploration. As a 18 year veteran teacher, I strive to think of new and fun ways to teach my students. This year I have been researching new ideas to make my classroom more feasible to my 3rd graders learning.
Research shows that having students sit on exercise balls throughout the day allows them to be more actively engaged.
They are always comfortably in motion. It interacts their mind as well as their bodies. The stability balls and stools I have on my supplies list will help to build a more innovative environment for my students. Their bodies will be actively in motion as they sit in a classroom for 8 hours a day. This will provide them more motion and movement throughout the day. Studies show, their brains remain active when their bodies are active. I would love to introduce that to my students!!! Together, we can make changes that will improve the lives and ways of learning for my students.
