Viewing images in a microscope, while trying to see what the teacher is explaining is frustrating. Students need to "see" while being immersed in the process.
My students attend a small school in a rural area.
Most of my students are sons and daughters of ranchers. They are hardworking, dedicated, and curious about the world around them. They love enhancing their learning with new materials and technologies. They are self-managers of their learning as they are 1:1 with HP Streams and do science in a blended-gamified learning environment.
My Project
The Moticam X WiFi-enabled camera will ensure that up to six students at a time can "see" what is being viewed in a single microscope on their digital devices. For example, as my students examine their soil slides they will be able to view what other students are viewing. Being able to view the slides simultaneously will stimulate verbal discussion, annotation and manipulation of the images, and help students better understand the material they are studying.
Including the Moticam X WiFi-enabled camera in our laboratory investigations will level the learning field, ensuring that all students have a visual understanding of what is being examined during microscope labs.
