Mossy Creek Store Toolbox: Motivating Student Leaders Through WIG Success

At Mossy Creek, our students are learning to take charge of their learning, lead themselves and others, and set Wildly Important Goals (WIGs).
Every day, they practice the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People through the Leader in Me program. They track their goals, reflect on their progress, and grow as leaders.
My Project
To celebrate and motivate students as they work toward their WIGs, we’re creating a Mossy Creek Store—a leadership-based reward system. Students will earn “Leader Bucks” or tokens for hitting key milestones and modeling leadership behaviors.
To launch this initiative, we’re asking for a toolbox of materials to stock, organize, and operate our store. This includes a secure storage cart, bins for organizing items, a lockable cash box, student-friendly inventory tools, and a wide variety of incentives (school supplies, small toys, and leadership-themed items). These tools will support a sustainable, student-run store that reinforces positive behavior and self-leadership.
The Impact
This store isn't just about earning prizes—it's about building intrinsic motivation, teaching financial literacy, and celebrating progress toward personal goals. Students will gain experience managing a store, setting prices, organizing inventory, and practicing customer service. All of this ties directly into the Leader in Me framework and brings WIGs to life in a fun, meaningful way.
