My School is Title I, and located in the heart of the city of Pittsburgh.
It is a part magnet school, which means that all of the students come from all over the city, not just the neighborhood. It is Title I, so unfortunately the poverty level is very high. My students are brilliant, creative and amazing individuals who all have bright futures ahead of them. I look to inspire and enlighten them on a day-to-day basis!
My Project
I would like the students to be able to master the art of mosaics. They have never worked with this medium; therefore I look forward to introducing it to them. I would like students to create coasters or perhaps stepping stones for outside in the school garden. My students need assorted glass chips, mosaic stone cement, and tools to cut the pieces of glass.
Donations for this project would provide my students to be able to work with a medium that they might never have the opportunity due to budget cuts.
I want my students to be able to express themselves through the mosaic pieces of art by recognizing color and mood.
