I am finding that some of my students in second grade need to be challenged with more explicit instruction with word meanings, specifically morphemes. Morphology will not only help my students with their decoding skills but help improve their vocabulary and reading comprehension.
My goal as a teacher is to provide the most effective instruction in fighting our low literacy rates!
With these morphology resources from IMSE, I can use evidence-based resource(s) to help provide my students with explicit instruction. With IMSE's morphology resources, I can teach morphemes using pictures to help provide visuals for my ML learners while providing extra practice to help ensure mastery with daily review of their instructional slides.
Not only will have the appropriate resources to provide the necessary instruction to push my students who need to be challenged, but I will have the tools to scaffold necessary early literacy skills for my struggling readers.
During our students' WIN (What I Need) group time, I would have the resources to challenge my more advanced readers with a deeper understanding of the meaning of words parts-morphemes, with the interactive notebook bundle with the reading passages to ensure both encoding and decoding skills were mastered.
