My Students

Our school is located in the small town of Hillsborough, NC. We are a Title I school with about 450 students in grades K-5. We have a fast-growing ESL population and our students LOVE to come to school because of our emphasis on community and character education.

Caring, helpful, achieving, motivated problem-solvers are character traits frequently used to describe our students.

Last Valentine's Day I received a beautiful homemade Valentine from one of my students. Inside the card he had written: "You are such a good teacher. I will never stop working hard for you." This is just one of many examples of how amazing our students are each and every single day!

My Project

My students greatly benefit from any opportunity to play, explore, and work together! Unfortunately, there is very limited time for play during our school day...except for morning arrival!

Students will have a soft start to their school day and engage in both socialization and play with their peers before the first bell for the school day even rings!

By utilizing Tactile Tubs, these materials will allow students to play, create, build, explore, talk, socialize, and work together in small groups or pairs! These materials will allow students to begin their school day on the right foot!
