Morning Bins

Help me give my students hands-on morning bins. Often, I allow my students to start their day by using a Chromebook, but this year I hope to branch away from that.

My Project

My aspirations for this new school year are to provide more hands-on activities and STEAM engagement in my classroom. In years past, my students have been allowed to use their choice of three educational websites to start their day..

With the amount of technology that students are already exposed to growing tremendously, I hope to minimize starting our day with Chromebooks, but rather with hands-on activities!

These students spend plenty of time on their Chromebooks during math and literacy, as well as other subjects, each day, and when given free time. I want to provide them the materials to experiment, build, problem-solve, and create to start their day each morning.

I plan to call this a "slow morning" start. Students will not be immediately diving into high-stress games, or education questions and equations, but rather they will start by waking up their brain in another way, and I hope to see positive changes in our learning and behaviors.
