Help me give my students the equipment they need to do Morning Announcements LIVE! We need an iPad to access Workplace by Facebook, a microphone for optimal audio and a tripod for a steady image.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students really get excited about reading. We are a small community school located in the big city of Miami, which has lots of distractions. My students get excited with the smallest of incentives and even when the library is decorated. I want to continue to attract their attention to our Media Center. I want to be able to provide them a great comfy area to read.
As the Media Specialist, I want to encourage students to feel comfortable and highlight the fantastic resources our Media Center has to offer.
Most of our students love to read and come to the library at least twice a week. I need these students to continue to come the library as they get older and feel that its not just a place the primary grades.
My Project
We have been doing morning announcements a variety of ways since our CCTV is down. We tried recording them and sending links to teachers but not all teachers watched because they don't check their emails on time. Another way we tried morning announcements is live but on the PA system so they can't see us.
But now through Workplace by Facebook, WROK can have LIVE announcements.
This is the only way everyone in the school can be informed about special events. We need an iPad to access Workplace by Facebook, a microphone for optimal audio and a tripod for a steady image so we can move forward.
WROK plans to highlight teachers and students. Through our Character Education curriculum we can showcase students and projects. Teachers and students become isolated in their classroom. The best way to come together is LIVE announcements.
