My Students

My first grade students are so eager to learn and we have a very fun and inviting classroom! Each day brings a new opportunity to learn through various lessons and projects. By the end of the year, my goal is to have them excelling in reading and math and simply having them love learning.

There are currently 24 students in my new class this year.

We are a rural school district in central Ohio with approximately 650 students in our building. Our students have a wide variety of backgrounds. We have excellent family support which helps keep us going!

My Project

I am requesting 2 tables to work at in the classroom. Having 2 more tables in our classroom would give my students the opportunity to have more personal workspace. In a first grade classroom, we do many hands-on projects and activities. The students truly need a good amount of space to work. Right now there are six students to a table, which allows for a small area for them to work. We also have larger class sizes this year and I am very close to not having enough space for everyone. Having more tables would allow each child to have enough space to complete their work and collaborate with their peers during group projects.

By receiving a couple more tables for our classroom, my students and I would be able to work more comfortably and have enough space for everyone.

I am a firm believer in creating a positive classroom community and having enough room for all of my students would make it so that no one feels left out. I know they would appreciate and enjoy them!
