This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to start teaching my students about STEAM through hands-on during our academic and exploration center time in my classroom.
I have a place in my class that I want to turn into a STEAM center area filled with a table and wall space with anchor charts based on our monthly science themes...this way, students can learn more about STEAM through hands on activities.
Currently, the place where I want to become a STEAM center is being used as a space for our backpacks. I am requesting a backpack cart to help take our backpacks outside for safe keeping. The backpack cart will open up the space we need to create a STEAM center inside the classroom. This new STEAM center will be change monthly by theme to allow students to further learning in variety of different learning areas including problem solving, language literacy, social emotional, counting skills, engineering and to allow them to think outside of the box to find solutions to monthly STEAM challenges.
