My Project
Currently my classroom has a mix of tables and desks. I have noticed that the students at tables are better equipped for experiments and group work. They are able to see a science experiment and discuss with their partners. Also, when working with math manipulative and problem solving they are able to reach everything and work together. These three tables will allow all my students to be seated at tables with their peers. My students can be seated in clusters of 4 at each table, allowing for multiple opportunities to collaborate with each other and hear a variety of ideas. This helps students make deeper connections with the material to better understand it.
Encouraging peer interaction and collaboration not only provides opportunities for language use and practice it builds community in the classroom!
MLs also benefit from observing how their peers learn and solve problems. My classroom has 14 bright and hard-working Multi-lingual learners that deserve the best opportunities to learn from each other.
