My Project
You all really came through with my last request for snacks. Our students have been so glad to be able to have options that they chose themselves. Sadly, our supply has been depleted. Middle schoolers sure can eat!
Afternoon snack time has become an important part of our day.
While it's not the same as sitting down to a home cooked meal, snack time provides opportunities for students to connect. They make choices, clean-up and encourage each other to try new things. Have you tried popcorn with hot sauce on it?!
I am hoping to satisfy the requests I've gotten from students for snacks to take us though the end of the school year. Many students in our program experience food insecurity at home, and having snack options at school helps to foster a sense of belonging and safety. Help us show them how much we care.
