My Project
My students love to read! I joined a combination class of first and second graders in January and immediately noticed my students were often struggling to find engaging or high-interest children’s literature to read from our classroom library. I realized quickly that our classroom library needed to be updated. The goal of my current project is to do just that! I want to provide the kids with more of their favorite authors and a few new to them books to read.
I have watched closely and have asked students what types of books they are interested in reading.
I am including more of The Babysitters Club graphic novels because we currently only have 4 and they are very popular! I am also including a few weather books to help with our upcoming research project on hurricanes. I am also including a few different holiday books to add to our collection. Next, I have also included 10 pairs of headphones because many of the headphones we currently have are broken. These new headphones will allow everyone in the class to have access to a working pair for when they are using their devices to listen to stories on sites like EPIC! Last but not least, I have included some stickers for labeling the new books. This will help keep our library organized in a kid-friendly way.
Your support will help update our library with even more of my kids’ favorites and will keep everyone wanting to read more. Your support will also provide working headphones which are desperately needed. I thank you in advance for considering my students and classroom for your donations. The kids will be so excited to have more great books and resources available.
