In my ENL/Art classroom, I work with multilingual learners who are not only building their English skills but also adjusting to new school norms, academic expectations, and social-emotional challenges. One of the most effective tools I use to support their growth is positive reinforcement—acknowledging and rewarding students when they demonstrate kindness, effort, responsibility, persistence, or risk-taking in language and creativity.To support this, I maintain a classroom prize box, which provides small, fun incentives that encourage students to keep trying their best. These rewards are not just about "stuff"—they're about recognizing students’ effort and helping them associate learning and positive behavior with encouragement and joy.
I’m seeking donations of small, student-friendly prize items that will keep our prize box stocked and exciting such as squishy toys, fidget toys, mini bubbles, and fun pencils and erasers.
