My Project
Students in my first-grade class are discovering Chromebooks and the different resources that are available to them on the device. With a set time each day dedicated to being on the Chromebook, it can get quite noisy in the classroom and distracting for the students. To be able to have a class set of headphones would allow all students to be on the Chromebooks at one time while creating a quieter, more focused environment to maximize student engagement and learning.
Students in my classroom are eager to learn and share what they discover.
Having more math manipulatives in the classroom will help them be able to be more engaged during lessons and make connections to what they are learning. When students can see a math problem worked out in front of them with manipulatives there are more of those "aha" moments in class.
We also love to make connections between what we are learning in class to books and be able to see illustrations of what we are talking about. Adding more nonfiction books to our classroom library will allow students to be able to learn more about the world around them and how it works.
